The Master Face Mount Lock Latch is the Option 2 latch for Perf gate installations — a side-pull lockable latch that mounts to the face of the gate frame. Unlike the Magna Latch (top pull), this latch is accessed from the side of the gate, typically at mid-gate height.

This latch is the lockable version of the standard face mount latch — it includes a key cylinder that locks the latch from both sides of the gate. It is compatible with any D&D gate system that has a non-lockable nylon latch fitted, as the latch and keeper can be swapped out.

Important: This latch requires the PP-PACKER-SP packer (sold separately) to achieve the correct 8–10mm clearance between the latch face and the gate post. It also requires a gate stop (SS-GS) to ensure consistent gate alignment for reliable latching.

Why do I need the packer?

The 38×25mm gate frame has a double wall of aluminium where the latch mounts. Without the packer (PP-PACKER-SP), the latch face sits too close to the gate post and the keeper cannot engage correctly. The 3mm packer creates the correct 8–10mm clearance.
Is this the same as the Magna Latch?

No — the Magna Latch (ML-TL) is a top-pull latch; the Master Face Mount is a side-pull latch. Both are AS1926.1 compliant but operate differently. The Magna Latch is simpler to install (no packer needed) and is the most common choice. The face mount latch is preferred where a side-pull operation is desired.
Do I need a gate stop with this latch?

Yes — the SS-GS gate stop is strongly recommended. Without it, the gate can over-swing past the keeper position and not latch reliably.

Warranty — the honest version

There is no manufacturer warranty on this product. None. Your guarantees under Australian Consumer Law still apply — goods must be of acceptable quality for what they are, and what they are is a budget imported fence, sold as exactly that. All Sales Are Final

Due to the nature of our products — large-format aluminium fencing panels, gates and hardware that are ordered, warehoused and dispatched to order — we do not accept returns or offer refunds for change of mind or incorrect selection.

We strongly encourage you to carefully review your order before confirming purchase. Check your colour selection (Satin Black or Monument Satin), confirm your required quantities, and verify that you have the correct products for your installation method before placing your order.

Damaged, Defective or Incorrect Items

While we do not accept change of mind returns, we take product quality and order accuracy seriously. If you receive a product that is:

  • —Damaged — physically damaged during transit or delivery
  • —Defective — has a manufacturing fault or defect affecting its function
  • —Incorrect — does not match the product code or colour you ordered

Please contact us within 24 hours of delivery at sales@safestpoolfence.com.au with clear photographs of the issue. We will assess the claim and arrange a suitable resolution, which may include replacement or refund.

Claims made after 24 hours of delivery cannot be accepted — please inspect your order carefully at the time of delivery or collection before leaving the depot or signing off on delivery.

Order Cancellation

Once an order has been placed and payment received, it enters our processing queue immediately. Cancellation may not be possible once the order has been forwarded to the warehouse. If you need to cancel, contact us immediately at sales@safestpoolfence.com.au and we will advise whether cancellation is still possible.
